Karolinska Institutet is one of the leading Medical Universities and Karolinska University Hospital one of the world leading medical institutions.The Karolinska Comprehensive Cancer Center includes both academic and clinical aspects integrating all disciplines in cancer research and oncological patient care.

The Div. of Surgery & Oncology in the Dept. of Clinical Sciences together with the Dept. of Upper Gastroenterology focusses particularly on pancreatic diseases especially pancreatic tumors including premalignant stages such as IPMN and individuals at risk for pancreatic cancer. We are the largest center in Scandinavia. The research group and its associated laboratories have a special expertise in biomarkers and liquid biopsy.

The role of Dr. Löhr is to co-ordinate the clinical studies, gather clinical information and biomaterials (samples), and shape the prospective clinical trials as well as second the co-ordinator on all clinical aspects of the project. The role of Dr Wengström is to support the quality of life assessment in the clincial studies.
