The primary tasks of the University Hospital Center of Montpellier are treatment, teaching, research, but also prevention, health education, and the battle against social exclusion. It is structured around 13 university hospital poles, which house all medical and surgical specialities.

The Laboratory of Rare Human Circulating Cells is a clinical cancer research facility located in the Research and Innovation pole. The laboratory is a pioneer in liquid biopsy and has expertise in the investigation of residual disease in cancer, especially circulating tumor cells. The laboratory’s multidisciplinarity is exemplified by its several research axes: translational clinical research, fundamental research, and technical development.

The laboratory will participate in biomarker research (WP2) for the PANCAID project, with a focus on identifying and characterizing circulating tumor cells and other host cells. Additionally, it will take part in WP3’s management and analysis of scientific data. Furthermore, he will help to value and improve the talents of the project’s young career scientists (WP6).
